I'm the best at what I do, and what I do isn't very nice
James Howlett, better known as Wolverine or simply Logan, is a Class E mutant, with his current whereabouts unknown.
Born in the Canadian region of Alberta, James first manifested his mutant abilities when he killed his biological father in a fit of rage. He and his half-brother, Victor Creed, fled from their home to the south, into the United States.
U.S. Civil War Edit
James and Victor both enlisted in the Union Army when the Civil War broke out. Fighting in the 2nd Wisconsin Regiment under the Iron Brigade, the pair fought across multiple battlegrounds, such as Gettysburg and the Battle of South Mountain. They were presumably killed at the Battle of Atlanta among the 3,600 Union casualties.
After the Civil War, James and Victor reemerged under new identities as they worked odd jobs in the north for 40-45 years before the start of World War I.
World War I Edit
The half-brothers enlisted in Canada's Devil Brigade when the war broke out. Fighting took place on French soil, the brothers understand the importance of their motto, "They Shall Not Pass." When the war ended, they were relieved of their duties.
Days of Future's Past Edit
The brothers eventually separated from each other due to differenting views on the world around them. After serving in World War 2 and the Vietnam War, James began a heavy drinking pattern that took a toll on his life. In 1962, he was approached by Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr to be a part of a mutant team known as the X-Men, which he disgustedly declined. The next 20 years was filled with heavy alcoholism.
Weapon X Program Edit
In 1983, James was captured by Essex and transported to a secret facility in Canada known as the Weapon X Program. Here, James was grafted with the metal Adamantium onto his skeleton and bone claws. William Stryker was head of the Weapon X Program, where he attempted to put Logan under his control. However, Logan broke free of his programming and slaughtered almost every soldier and scientist in the facility. Logan was free into the wild Canadian forests.
Days of Future's Now Edit
For the next 17 years, Logan became civilized once more and found himself to be a mercenary around the globe, until he took up professional cagefighting as "Wolverine".
After one cage match, James was approached by an older Charles Xavier, who asked him to join his team, the X-Men. James reluctantly agreed to join.
Present Day Edit
After serving with the X-Men and X-Force, Weapon's X own X-Men, for 26 years, Logan suddenly resigned from the X-Men, and took a weaken Charles with him, apparently disappearing off the Earth.
